Youth Council Application Form.
Thank you for your interest in the Justice for My Sister's Youth Council! As a member of the Youth Council, you will be part of the JFMS community and be a key stakeholder in pro of our students and community.
Prior to applying, please read the description of the roles and responsibilities for being a part of the Youth Council below. We welcome the possibility of inviting you onto our leadership team!
Requirements:
Attend monthly meetings where youth leaders bring forth pitches for ways to expand JFMS community recognition and impact.
Participate in additional planned activities online and in person.
Be an active member of the Youth Council committees.
Collaborate on the JFMS hiring process, including application review and sitting in interviews.
Participate in trauma-informed facilitation training and other leadership development opportunities.
Be between 16 and 24 years old. For applicants under 18 years old, you should have signed consent from your parents or caregivers.
Be a graduate of one of Justice for My Sister's programs.
Term Length: The required term length for Youth Council Members is one year. Once your first term has come to a close, we will invite you to re-enroll to serve a second consecutive term of an additional year (two years total).
Compensation: Youth Council Members will be compensated with a $100/month stipend. Compensation includes travel and accommodation costs in relation to Board Member duties if required. Youth Council Members Members will be listed on our website and marketing materials.
